J2 Software reveals exceptional growth in tough economic climate, plus expansion plans

J2 Software MD John Mc Loughlin says this is no mean feat in a zero growth economy.

"We have had some great successes during the first half of our 2018/2019 financial year, with our revenues reflecting a very pleasing 40% increase year on year," says Mc Loughlin.

Mc Loughlin reveals the company is exploring expansion opportunities aimed at extending its reach and services outside of South African borders. "This includes investigating the viability of taking our business model and replicating it not only throughout Europe, including the UK, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) markets, but also to Australia. Our time-frame for this is in the region of 12 to 24 months.

"While still in the early days of planning, we foresee a phased entry into new markets and believe that the best way forward would be to invest in a presence on the ground in our chosen new markets. Our business has evolved in the last 12 years and we are continually reviewing in order to stay abreast of market changes and requirements. I feel that using skilled and experienced South African resources to fulfil necessary services in additional markets will bring value to both J2 and our clients," he says.

Mc Loughlin confirms this does not mean that J2 is shifting its focus away from South Africa; on the contrary, he says the company's expansion plans over the coming 12 to 24 months also will see them increasing their South African market presence in major cities across the country.

"This will lead to the creation of regional offices to manage the growth. This will be augmented through exciting new launches in the next three months. The fact is that everybody and everything is now connected in our modern world, prioritising the need for practical and real cyber security solutions. J2 has geared itself to deliver on-demand security services that add value and improve our digital, connected experience.

"We feel this will provide an even greater value proposition to current and new customers, as well as partners. Our consulting business is also reflecting steady growth and we have access to a wealth of experience that helps our clients with practical delivery of governance, risk, compliance and security services based on leading frameworks that fit into their business models."

Mc Loughlin says J2's local and international customers benefit from world-class skills with the advantage of South African resources. "Our dedicated and hardworking team have contributed immensely to our success through the delivery of world-class service to our loyal and incredibly supportive customer base."

Going forward, Mc Loughlin notes the company intends to continue to drive plans around corporate social responsibility (CSI) initiatives, which are geared to create opportunity and empower more young South Africans through skills upliftment and internship programmes.
